MIRTHLESS is a black doom metal and melancholic post-rock band from Romania.
Their sound skillfully blends black, doom and depressive impulses with a melodic-oriented approach. A magnificent balance in combining the different souls of the metal sub-genres.
After more than a decade and with a full line-up the band released its first full-length in 2019, called “Threads of Desire”.
This 6-track album was composed in a black doom manner with post-rock passages and has a melancholic overall feel.
Their sound skillfully blends black, doom and depressive impulses with a melodic-oriented approach. A magnificent balance in combining the different souls of the metal sub-genres.

Gaerea's first release of "Unsettling Whispers" was in 2018, and since, they dared define a "black metal" niche of their own, they dared to walk a new path and stir shit up a bit in the realm of BM, this album is a masterpiece and a milestone proving that it can be done, provided the band can pull it off, and they did, oh they did! Gloomy, dark, post-BM sludgy whatever, it's Gaerea, and this one belongs in my BC collection, the end.
